Privacy Policy

AccessToWeb.app is run by Farooq Ahmed, an independent developer. I am the only person who reads what you send. This policy is written plainly, in the first person, because it is genuinely just me.

1. Information I Collect

When you use AccessToWeb.app, I collect only the information necessary to provide my Microsoft Access to web application conversion service:

• Contact Information: Your name, work email address, and company name (optional), provided when you submit a blueprint request through the form on this site.
• Project Details: Roughly how many forms your database has, whether it is split into front end and back end, and any notes you choose to write about your setup.
• Access Database Files: The database files (.mdb, .accdb, .accde, or a .zip containing them) you choose to share with me for analysis and conversion. This upload is optional — a written description of your database is enough to get a blueprint, and many people never send a file at all.
• Usage Data: Basic technical information collected through standard web server logs, such as pages visited, time of request, and referring page.
• Anti-Spam Data: When you submit the form, your IP address and browser user agent are stored alongside your submission. This exists solely to keep automated and abusive submissions off the form, and is not used to profile or track you.

2. How I Use Your Information

I use the information I collect exclusively for delivering the service:

• Blueprint & Quote Generation: To analyse your Access database and prepare your migration blueprint with a timeline and an exact fixed quote.
• Project Delivery: To convert your Access database into a web application according to the agreed specification.
• Communication: To respond to your enquiry, provide project updates, and deliver completed work. Submitting the form also triggers an automatic confirmation email to the address you gave, so you know the request arrived.
• Keeping the Form Working: To detect and block spam submissions, so genuine enquiries reach me.

I do not use your information for marketing purposes, and I will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. There is no mailing list, and I will not chase you if you decide not to go ahead.

3. Cookies

AccessToWeb.app uses minimal cookies necessary for website functionality:

• Session Cookies: Laravel — the framework this site runs on — sets a session cookie and an XSRF token cookie, required for form submission security (CSRF protection). These expire when you close your browser.
• Analytics: This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how people arrive here. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to distinguish visitors, and the data is processed by Google under Google's privacy policy. I use it for page-level statistics only.

I do not use advertising cookies, session recording, or third-party marketing tools. If you prefer not to be counted, most browsers can block analytics cookies, and Google publishes an opt-out browser add-on.

4. Third-Party Services

I use a limited number of third-party services to operate the business:

• Email Provider: To send and receive project communications.
• Google Analytics: Aggregate site-usage statistics, as described in the Cookies section above.
• Hosting Provider: To serve this website securely.
• Fonts: None. The web fonts are served from this site’s own server rather than a font network, so reading a page here does not hand your IP address to a third-party font origin.

I do not share your Access database or project data with any third party without your explicit consent. It is not used for training anything, for public examples, or for case studies unless you agree in writing.

5. Data Retention & Security

I take the security of your data seriously:

• File Handling: Access databases shared for quoting purposes are stored securely and deleted within 30 days of blueprint and quote delivery unless a project is initiated.
• Project Files: For active projects, all files are stored securely and deleted within 90 days of project completion and final delivery.
• Private Storage: Uploaded files are stored outside the public web root under a randomised filename. They are never linked publicly, never served to visitors, and never executed.
• SSL Encryption: All data transmitted to and from this website is encrypted using SSL/TLS.
• Access Control: Your files are only accessed by the developer working on your project.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of any personal data I hold about you.
• Request deletion of your personal data and any files I have on record.
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time.
• Request correction of any inaccurate information.

There is no form to fill in and no reason required — just email me. I aim to action deletion requests within a few working days and will confirm once it is done.
